I think it does do at set intervals.

I'm sure it pops up at the bottom lefthand corner:

For fans of Lazytown go to http://www.lazynutters.com or something similar.

Is there anything going on with the webserver this is hosted on? At certain random times during the day it's incredibly slow (or sometimes impossible/unreachable) to load pages :-(

I think it's the host, but I think Daz said he recently renewed the subscription, so may have to wait a few months till he can change.
But it has got worse. Maybe you could have a moan at them Daz?

Yes I will email them, no harm in trying.

Surftown was a good host, but then was bought by Americans ..nuff said. Need to move next time. I will be asking you guys for suggestions for hosting.

Surftown probs..

I have a subscription bill, It seems im unable to contact them via the website for more details FFS!

Whats the difference with a subscription and paying a linux professional package?

I paid for the linux package in feb 09...so whats the subscription for?

My domain names and the bills for them i do understand.

Anyone know?

i may need to move our host sooner than expected.

I have a hosting company as a sideproject to my normal employment (Uni lecturer)... What kind of traffic are you talking about? I might be able to throw up something for free if it's not too much bandwidth/disk space.

I could host it on one of my servers too. The only issue is the videos - they take up an incredible amount of disk space and bandwidth to download.

Traffic the last few months has been around 3 to 5GB per month, but last month with Itzkins videos, it looks to be around 19GB (15000 page views). Disk used is just over 4GB with a large proportion of that also video.

The current host is running PHP4 which will soon be unsupported. I would prefer it if a new host ran PHP5 as I could install a good CMS to manage the main site.

No problem Itzkin - it was excellent work by you to produce them in the first place. If I had a server with unlimited disk space and bandwidth, I would happily put them on.

I blame you Itzkin. You steal engies metal, steal Mambas porche in black mamba leather trim and now you use up all our webspace! ...sigh.
;)
=====

But seriously, I would want to have a free host and need to look at all the options. Our present host is terrible. Please keep posting ideas for me to consider...i think we have until next month :(

**FYI I originally purchased a large webspace, due to having various commercial website ideas, but life events kinda changed things. Recently moving to a brand new house has meant im financially restrained for a while..cant really justify the webspace expense with the wife lol. No probs with the .com and im not that skint i cant attend the meeting :)

Need ideas, Im glad a lot of you guys are techies :) Get thinking !

i've had a look around for different webspace prviders, and i think i've found a decent one that you could take a look at daz 8-) though you'll have to forgive my limited knowledge in this department

http://www.justhost.com/

as far as i can tell:
.it's £2.95 a month (promotion) and it'll probably go back up to £4.95 a month after a period of time
.24/7 tech support
.you get unlimited bandwidth and disk space
.you get a domain for life
.and you can transfer from the host you are using for free (though i think that's standard)
