I've personally always disagreed with random crits in general. I mean on paper it sounds kind of retarded to do 3x damage sometimes to keep the game interesting & uncertain. I don't mind so much when the crit itself wouldn't matter because someone's on low enough health that a normal hit would've done the same thing, but it gets much more annoying when on/near full health to walk around a corner or out of respawn and just be 1-shot because someone was lucky enough to get a crit. Or when you know you've won a fight against some dude but on 2hp they get a crit and they win because they were luckier. In regards to dishing out crits, I can get that most people find that the satisfaction makes up for the previous annoyances, but personally I just feel bad whenever I crit someone who otherwise wouldn't have died. Like, I just don't find any fun in insta-winning fights because I rolled a 6, so to speak. Almost sorry, even. Although if other people do prefer that kind of play, to each their own I guess. I do like the idea of a night with crits off once a week though.

tl;dr Don't like them because imbalanced and annoying, but if other people do then fair enough.

Also, fuck splash crits yo.

I agree with Paarthur. Also using legit crits is fine, use the kritzkrieg all you want. Those crits are done with purpose. Random ones that come out of nowhere suck. I HATE CRIT STICKIES!!

It is a video game!
No need to prove yourself worthy by reducing the randomness of the output of your actions. If you want to shine with expertise do that at your workplace/school.
Video games are for a relief, not to be stressed on more.

When you strip them of randomness you will inevitably rage more, because you don't have any external factors to blame (apart from lag, bugs in the game and hardware malfunctions :) )

You can see someone talking about the benefits of not blaming yourself here:

I remember a guy named Itzkin? ..a roof whore, pretty old guy with a funny mic, older than you Mary. Itzkin must be a very clever person ..Quote: "its a video game" OMG I never realized TF2 was a game

Back on topic to crits, they are great I love them. Chaos is natural, luck and bad luck is natural too..without these the world and indeed the universe (inc TF2) would be a very boring place, simular to Yorkshire.

Having random crits makes no sense to me...

If you get that triple kill of joy, yes it's great but you've also ruined an equal amount of fun.
There are a lot of moments where random crits just ruin fun and nothing else.

Nocrits appeal to the competitive and the pubbers. In addition, lazytown is a small map so crits can become OP.

Think about it, everytime you've got a moment of glory with random crits you've ruined someone elses. Think about how they feel..

No crits also help people develop their skill, and if you only play lazytown this can be crucial as...well....it doesn't always have the most experienced players and can be extremely laid back to a degree of disbelief. No crits also increases the chance of skilled moments of glory, such as double/triple airshots, etc.

Jarate and buffs/crit inducing items still work if you are worrying about that.

Peace out.

They can...that's the point of the forum. The point of the forum is not to throw insults to deny someones opinion, people have a right to that. You still haven't given me a genuine reason why nocrits wouldn't work- another reason why this whole nocrit/random crits argument post has been put up. In addition, your opinion does not count for everyone elses.
