looks awesome, but do be warned that some people get motion sickness from it as its not perfect

as for what boom said I think valve are experimenting with vr and with one that uses a camera and ir tracking points on the faceplate, so its far better than the oculus, and cheaper, however sadly they arent planning on putting it into manufacture and its only for internal development

I saw a video by Node the other day about combining the oculus with these arm tracking thingies, ill find it

here it is:
and another:

now imagine that in lazytown, everyone could flip each other off at point 3 and we could have a heck of a time

The motion sickness problems seem to have been resolved now with the new 1080 low persitent OLED displays in the DK2.. DK2 has full motion sensor now too :)

OLED? So they are actual curved displays rather than using lenses? Sounds awesome!

love it.. It will revolutionise gaming for one thing, let alone all the other applications, movies and other media. It's the sense of presence/feeling like you're actually in there that blows you away. I've tried about 30 games and demos and some are unbelievably good. I've tried TF2 and Half-life 2 and they're stunning. Having head tracking also gives you extra control and you have a real sense of height and panoramic views are awesome. Flying games are fantastic, as you're controlling aircraft with controls but can look all around you inside the cockpit and out into the air and ground below naturally as if you were actually sitting in it.
War Thunder (game): http://youtu.be/3BUZaE52hAo

I set up a small desk fan to blow air at my face and believe me your brain thinks you're moving. :) Underwater games are great too, the feeling of depth and atmosphere is phenomenal. I've got a demo game called Ocean Rift,
Ocean Rift (demo): http://youtu.be/7_v86X6wfIk
Titans of Space (demo): http://youtu.be/Iwc0WzyTcpY

basically a very small map with a few sharks and fish with not a awful lot to see but the sense of presence is so good I keep playing it, it's like sitting in an sea life aquarium in your living room. The VR aspect makes even the simplest basic games and demos great fun. All a bit hard to explain but try to imagine yourself in a box of huge seamless monitors, wherever you look you can see everything in 3D. All they have to do now is improve the screen resolution, which aint bad anyway really and make it a bit more compact. The days of needing a big ass monitor for gaming is over. I run my Rift on my laptop and what you see is a massive 3D monitor on the Rift instead of a tiny laptop screen. Lastly, horror games are fucking SCARY, you sh1t yourself just walking around and hearing the wind or creepy noises, that's before the fcuking zombies turn up. Tried Slender the Arrival, had to quit cos it's so fcukin creepy. LOL :D

Estranged (game): http://youtu.be/tl_CUrqvcOk

Sounds great!

The youtube movies are cool, but still think i need to experience for myself.
the 4 d or 3 d effect is only there with glasseson i think.

What does a rift glass cost? And you want to use it with tf all the time? I would love to try it

Sponge, could you tell us more about the fatigue?
Do you feel tired after using it? Eyes burning, neck hurting, feeling detached from reality?
Could it be so good that you wouldn't want to leave VR?
